August, 2007 - Paul Kersting left KW Consulting, Inc. to return to full time employment with Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC. KW Consulting continues to operate under Bob Weiner, now President of KW Consulting.
August, 2010 - KW Consulting has developed a new state-of-the-art LWR fuel rod fission gas release model. The model accounts for fission gas release due to diffusion to grain boundary bubbles and interlinkage of the bubbles, grain boundary sweeping, direct diffusion to the fuel rod void volume, and knockout/recoil release. The model gives the release of both stable and unstable fission gases. A brief description of the model, including comparisons of the model predictions with stable and unstable gas reles data, can be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format.
